Building the Oasis: Trying New Things

First off, I want to say thank you for being part of this movement with us as we convert South Florida into a pinball oasis, one location at a time.
Pinball Passport is driven by a passion to deliver something special to a community that may not yet realize it needs it. I do not mean those of you reading this, but the hundreds more we still need to bring into the hobby. That is the most exciting part for me. When someone plays pinball for the first time, or for the first time in three decades, the reaction is usually the same: awe and excitement.
“We are only as good as the community we serve and build together.”
In April, we hosted our first Pin Brunch-style tournament. Our vision was simple: bring players together in the morning, Bloody Mary in hand, and create a relaxed, social atmosphere. It was a great time and a useful test to see what the community is craving. Trying something new always comes with a bit of uncertainty, but even so, it gave us a clearer picture of what works, what needs adjusting, and where there is room to grow.
One of the biggest takeaways was a reminder of just how important trial and error is when building something for a community that continues to evolve. Events like this give us the opportunity to better understand those shifts in a real, hands-on way. It also gave us the opportunity to spend time with regulars like Tony and Lenny, have some Cuban pastelitos, and talk about what we should be providing at future events.

Even when everything does not go exactly according to plan, seeing familiar faces show up and engage reminds us that people care about what we are building. There is still a strong sense of momentum and genuine excitement for what is coming next.
With all of that in mind, we are already looking ahead. We are excited to keep building on this idea and finding the right balance that works for both new and returning players. Be sure to stay tuned to our social media channels for announcements, updates, and upcoming dates. We will be sharing more details soon.
As always, if you have suggestions, feedback, or just want to connect, feel free to reach out at info@pinball-passport.com or send us a message directly. Thank you for being part of the community. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
Finally, we are only as good as the community we serve and build together. With that in mind, we want to know the best time and day to host tournaments. We also want to test interest in a Wednesday night league at Duffy’s Tavern.
May your shots be dialed in and your flippers strong,
Jose
